Important Acne Facts when looking for Treatments.
Pizza and Cola – The next time someone tells you that eating junk food will make you have acne, you can rest easy. Eating junk food does not cause acne. Of course, you could make much better choices with your diet instead of eating so much pizza and cola, but eating some of these things will not cause your skin to break out. It is important, however, to eat a well-balanced diet.
Scrubbing is BAD – Many people think that you should scrub your face if you have acne because there must be dirt there causing it. They are incorrect in assuming this because acne is not caused by dirt. Rubbing hard on your face with all that scrubbing is bad for your acne problem and will cause it to spread so please don’t scrub it. You should always gently wash your face using mild soap. Don’t wash more than two times a day unless you really need to.
Sweating – Another myth involves sweating. Some people think that profuse sweating will help clean up their pores, probably because they visualize liquid flowing through their pores in an effort to unclog them. This is completely untrue because sweat is not water and can irritate the pores, making them worse. This is why you need to shower soon after exercising to remove the sweat build-up. Strive to always wear clothes that don’t bind in an order to prevent excessive sweating.
Cosmetics – Many women are led to think that the cosmetics they use on their face will cause acne to occur. This, too, is unproven. Many of today’s cosmetic products are formulated to help unclog pores, not clog them. It is best, however, to clean make-up from your face before exercising because make-up mixed with sweat can contribute to pimples and bumps.
Stress – Much of the literature you read tries to convince you that too much stress in your life can cause acne. This is not the case. Stress does not cause acne, although it can contribute to imbalanced hormones. Once the hormones get involved, then acne might become aggravated.
Acne NOT only for teens – Acne cannot be completely cured so that bit of information is correct, along with the assumption that you cannot outgrow acne. There’s no need to worry too much about either one, though, because acne can be successfully treated, and as long as you continue to practice good skin care habits, it will not be a problem.
Sunlight – Sunlight will not make your acne problem better. It is important to get a certain amount of sunlight (it provides Vitamin D) but too much only makes your acne problem much worse.
Try not to worry excessively about the fact that you have acne. All it takes is a little time, patience on your part, and the correct treatment regime in order to greatly improve your acne. Once you beat it, just continue following the same healthy skin care routines that you have learned here.
